According to a book written by Gerald May regarding addictions, there are one hundred and five various things that one could become addicted to. Many of them appear to be good things, such as food, shopping, exercise, work, relationships and prescriptions written by a doctor. However, all of these things can become harmful if we can’t handle them in a correct manner. The use of prescriptions obviously can go south if we misuse them. Staying in a relationship which involves some form of abuse is unhealthy, especially when you continue to try to justify it with excuses. And work could turn into a bad thing if it continually comes before our families. This shows you that any number of things have the potential to become addictive if not handled in a healthy way.
